Registration open for Occupational Health 2018

by Ann Caluori | Tue, 29/05/2018 - 10:02

The Society and Faculty of Occupational Medicine’s Occupational Health 2018 conference is coming to London’s Regent’s University from 25th–27th June this year. OH 2018 is set to be the multidisciplinary OH event of the year, boasting educational and social programmes you won’t want to miss.

What’s going on?

The conference includes an excellent lineup of expert speakers, including Dame Carol Black, Professor Neil Greenberg, Professor Gina Radford, Professor Diana Kloss MBE and Professor Craig Jackson.

This year’s programme is the most multidisciplinary yet, with speakers from across occupational health and beyond:

Alongside these big names are sessions covering ethical practice, menopause, shift work, respiratory disease, fitness to drive and much more. The conference also boasts a hands-on HAVS masterclass led by Drs Jon Poole, Ian Lawson and Roger Cooke, where delegates will have the opportunity to develop their skills in a practical setting.

Other highlights

Beyond the main programme, there’s a lot happening at OH 2018. You’ll have the opportunity to attend unique workplace visits to Transport for London (TfL) sites across the city, gaining access to normally hidden parts of London’s transport network. This is a rare chance to see the organisation’s health and safety work firsthand, and gain a deeper understanding of TfL’s approach to workplace health.

Social and networking events are an important part of the conference. Meet colleagues from across the specialty, chat and build professional relationships, all within the beautiful surroundings of Regent’s Park. Highlights include a drinks reception in the gardens of Regent’s University, and a gala dinner and dance, with after dinner speaker and SOM patron Norman Lamb MP, in the heart of London Zoo.

Not attended the conference before? Not a problem. Make your first year amazing by joining the conference buddy scheme. You’ll be put in contact with an experienced attendee who will show you the ropes, introduce you to colleagues and attend a couple of sessions with you. No more first day jitters: you’re guaranteed to get the most out of the conference programme and social events.
