Requirements

What You'll Need

Education & Development

  • Meet Specialist Practitioner requirements
  • Evidence of lifelong learning and development
  • Minimum 35 hours annual CPD over 4 years
  • Ongoing occupational health professional development

Work Experience

  • Minimum 200 days occupational health work
  • At least 4 years post-specialist experience
  • 5–8 significant occupational health activities
  • Annual reflective discussion evidence required

Competencies & Evidence

  • 80% competency proficiency at level 4
  • Level 5 expertise across several competencies
  • Minimum 5 supporting evidence submissions
  • NMC revalidation evidence required

Referees & Assessment

  • Two occupational health specialist referees
  • At least one external referee required
  • Assessment by the FOHN Accreditation Board
  • Additional evidence may be requested

Fees & Membership

Simple Pricing

For all levels of accreditation, the cost of the application and three years of inclusion in the directory is £60.

In 2026 we are offering free application plus additional mentoring and support for the first 15 applicants at each level.
