Planning to retire? Become a SOM Retired Member and share your expertise with SOM

Just because you are retiring, you don’t have to leave the world of occupational health behind!

Even if you have relinquished your professional registration, you can still play an active role within SOM. We value the skills, experience, and knowledge you have.

Take advantage of a much reduced membership fee by becoming a SOM Retired Member and:

  • Continue to receive invitations to SOM Regional Group meetings and events
  • Support a SOM Special Interest Group, sharing your specialist knowledge
  • Contribute to the Journal of Occupational Medicine as a reviewer
  • Keep up to date with the latest news from the occupational health community
  • Share skills, expertise and give advice by becoming a mentor, contributing to a knowledge library, or offering career coaching

SOM aims to ensure retired members stay connected via specific social events and a dedicated Special Interest Group.

We can also support your transition to retirement, providing advice on licensing, registration, and indemnity issues.

If you have been a SOM member and now wish to move to retired membership, contact Nick Llewellin nick.llewellin@som.org.uk or call 0203 910 4531.
