Regional networks

For many members, our regional groups are the ‘heart and soul’ of the organisation. They provide a unique, relevant, and lively forum for CPD and networking with colleagues. Benefits include:

  • Regular meetings providing continued professional development (CPD)
  • Opportunity to input into regional activity
  • Networking with colleagues
  • Exchange of information and ideas
  • Mechanism for feeding back to the centre and influencing Society policy
  • Mentoring
  • Social events and friendships
  • Input into the educational and social programme of the ASM (on a rotational basis)

Find your local regional group using the menu on the right. SOM members are free to join as many groups as they like - please email to request to be added to an additional group (you can select your first group in your profile settings in the Members Area). Non-members can attend a group for a limited period of time but will need to join the SOM if they wish to continue attending the meetings and receive wider membership benefits.

Regional groups aim to:

  • Develop member knowledge through continuing professional development
  • Encourage discussion and networking through social events and workplace visits
  • Expand the boundaries of thinking, linking with other professional groups in health and work
  • Encourage growth in the occupational health community
