It is recognised that there are substantial differences in the working lives and employment situation of women and men and therefore occupational safety and health.

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased this disparity for many women in terms of health, employment, paid and unpaid work. Occupational Health Professionals need to understand this unequal landscape and be able to signpost women towards evidence-based information to make informed choices and apply recommendations to employers on supporting women at work.

This session will focus on issues that can occur during a woman’s career in term of her health stages and the working conditions that can affect outcomes.

Speaker:

Emma Persand is a Women’s Health Advocate and Director of the health education and training company, Lemur Health. She founded Working with the Menopause, the female health strand, to empower women to manage their reproductive health and support organisations in retaining and developing talent. She is a registered nurse with a background in occupational and wellbeing and holds the Menopause Certificate from the British Menopause Society.
