Agile Leadership and Authenticity

This webinar is one of SOM's Autumn "Leading Lights" Leadership series, with the aim of inspiring and increasing the leadership capability of Occupational Health Professionals, and through their leadership the healthier lives of working people.

Background:

What are the characteristics of great leadership? What behaviours and styles mark out a great leader– is there one style that successful leaders demonstrate? How can leaders adapt their styles and behaviour as contexts change, without losing authenticity, and credibility while remaining authentic, true to their values? These are just a few of the areas our speaker Kevin Fenton will touch on in today’s leadership “leading light” seminar.

Speaker: Professor Kevin Fenton CBE PhD FFPH

Professor Kevin Fenton is the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) Regional Director for London. He is a senior public health expert and infectious disease epidemiologist who has worked in a variety of public health executive leadership roles across government and academia in the UK and internationally, including taking a leading role in London’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Between 2005-2012, Professor Fenton was the Director of the National Centre for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP), within the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in America. He was awarded a CBE in the 2022 New Year honours list for services to public health.
