Speaker:
Kim Stephenson is a former Independent Financial Advisor, member of the Personal Finance Society and an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute. He spent 12 years directly advising clients and organisations on their finances, before allying pure financial advice to psychology – which has been his main focus for the last 30 years. He’s been featured in publications such as the Financial Times, Sunday Times, Guardian and other media, notably BBC local radio UK, and has had two books published on the psychology of personal finance. His interest in why and how clients made decisions about money, both good and bad, led him to qualify as a psychologist, to better understand important issues like beliefs, values, goals and the vital issue of how to use money to achieve happiness. He’s now a practicing psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and on the Subject Matter Expert list of the Chartered Insurance Institute as well as the British Psychological Society contact list for media enquiries on the psychology of money. Currently, Kim works with charities, individuals and organisations to help people develop the mental and behavioural skills to use their money as a tool for flourishing, rather than having it terrify them or dominate their lives.
