 image2

FREE for ALL (please log in on the SOM website first).

Advocacy represents the global views and experiences of people at work so that important issues that affect people at work are heard by high-level decision makers. Advocacy is a deliberate process of using evidence and knowledge to influence decision-makers and public opinion, leading to better health outcomes. Through advocacy, health professionals and organizations can foster policies prioritizing occupational health and sustainable well-being, ensuring these issues remain central to global and national agendas. Advocacy is essential to creating healthier workplaces:
1. At a country level to protect Workers' Rights and Well-being, following ILO conventions
2. Within the WHO via regional offices to reduce the Global Burden of workplace health disease
3. By the World Economic Forum, World and multilateral banks to promote the value of workplace health within funding instruments
4. In partnership with unions to address inequities in Global Labour Practices
5. Across the UN system  - supporting workplace health in Sustainable Development Goals
