Location: In Person at Compass House, Chorley OR Online
The Level 3 Certificate for Occupational Health Technicians is the only regulated qualification for OHTs, developed in association with the Society of Occupational Medicine (SoM).
This qualification is made up of 6 mandatory modules and is carried out over two weeks of classroom learning (split in 2 x 5 day consecutive sessions) and observations, with self-study time for assignments.
Entry Requirements
Learners should be over the age of 18 and be working as an Occupational Health Technician.
Course schedule:
- Unit 1: The role and responsibilities of the Occupational Health Technician (Day 1 - 29/09)
- Unit 2: Professional behaviour for Occupational Health Technicians (Day 2 - 30/09)
- Unit 3: Risk Management for the Occupational Health Technician (Days 3 & 4 - 01/10 - 02/10)
- Unit 4: Safe and effective use of screening equipment for occupational health technicians (Days 5, 6, 7 & 8* 03/10 and 27/10 - 29/10)
- Unit 5: Understanding fitness for role screening (Day 9* - 30/10)
- Unit 6: Understanding health risk management and health improvement (Day 10 - 31/10)
*experienced technicians do not need to attend days 8 and 9.
Assessment methods:
Learners will complete a portfolio of evidence, which will include assignments, projects, reflective journals, presentations, written questions, professional discussions and an on-site observation.
