SOM visit to HMP Gartree, Leicestershire

We are pleased to confirm a SOM members visit to HMP Gartree on Wednesday 9 September.

Location: 
HMP Gartree, Gallow Field Road, Gartree, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7RP.

Visit overview:
The programme is expected to include:
•    An introductory briefing from senior staff, outlining the establishment’s role, function and population profile
•    A guided tour of key areas of the prison to provide insight into the operational environment
•    Opportunities to engage with staff and ask questions throughout the visit
•    A presentation on OH, Employee Assistance Programmes and MoJ Workplace Adjustment Service. 

Timings:
The visit is anticipated to begin at approximately 10:00am and conclude approx. 2:30pm. 
A detailed agenda and confirmed timings will be circulated to attendees in advance. 

Lunch will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements once your place has been confirmed. 

Security and identification requirements:
As this visit will take place within a secure custodial environment, attendees must comply with all security requirements, including:
•    Bringing valid official photo identification (passport or driving licence)
•    Complying with local security procedures, including searching on entry
•    Adhering to restrictions on prohibited items, including mobile phones, smart devices and other electronic equipment (which must not be taken into the establishment). These will be locked away at the prison Gate.
•    Following all instructions provided by escorting staff at all times

Further details will be provided within the formal joining instructions issued to confirmed attendees. 

Travel and car parking:

Limited on-site car parking is expected to be available; however, this cannot be guaranteed. Attendees are therefore encouraged to:
•    Indicate in advance if they intend to travel by car
•    Consider car sharing or public transport where possible
•    Allow additional time for arrival, security clearance and movement through the gate
Specific parking arrangements and directions will be confirmed within the joining instructions.
