Greater Manchester Police, Senior Mental Health Specialist

Greater Manchester Police is seeking to employ a Senior Mental Health Specialist for its Occupational Health and Wellbeing Service (OHWS).

The purpose of this role is to provide professional leadership, clinical direction and support to the wider OH team, specifically supporting the practice of other mental health clinicians.

Key aspects of the role will involve:

- Responsibility for undertaking high risk and complex case management of individuals with mental health disorders, including liaising with OH and wider community based multidisciplinary health care teams, and any appropriate treatment team support.
- Undertaking psychologically focused role risk assessments.
- Supporting psychological screening, escalation structured interviews and any subsequent case management with the OH team using evidence-based assessments and practice.
- Participation in the trauma risk management programme and referral of individuals into wider support mechanisms such as the Employee Assistance Programme.
- Using expert knowledge and skills to support all members of the team in assessing appropriate pathways, and the delivery of high quality care and treatments to service users.
- Able to demonstrate proven skills in leadership, team working, report writing, organisation, communication and compassion, working in line with evidence-based practice.
- Computer literate with experience of using OH software service delivery systems.

Applicants must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with current fitness to practice. A UK recognised qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), counselling, and stress management would be an advantage but is not essential.
