Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, Occupational Health Deputy Clinical Lead

Role Title: Occupational Health Deputy Clinical Lead – HC622090

Location: Southern Support and Training Headquarters, Netley (hybrid working options available)

Contract: Permanent and Full Time (37 hours per week)

Salary: Grade G, £53,436 to £58,545 per annum

Closing Date: Sunday 21st December 2025 at 23:59 hrs

Please note: You will be required (with notice) to visit various locations within Hampshire & Isle of Wight, to facilitate clinics and appointments, so you will need to have the ability to travel when necessary.

Occupational Health Specialists play a crucial role in providing clinical excellence and deliver a comprehensive Occupational Health, Wellbeing & Inclusion Service to the HIOWC. As a team of workplace health specialists who understand both the art and science of medicine and the unique challenges faced by those working, they focus on enabling officers/staff to remain at work/return to work, improving their fitness, health and resilience.They also enable them to deliver the Force’s priorities and better manage their health and demands of policing.  

The People Services division invites applications for a Deputy Clinical Lead to strengthen its busy and growing Occupational Health service.
 
About the role

In this role, you will provide objective occupational health advice to individuals and managers, in order to support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary in effectively managing the health of its workforce. This will support the retention of skills and experience in the force, keeping people engaged at work and/or promote their return to work.

Your role and responsibilities on any day may include (but will not be limited to):  
•    Operational and Clinical Management  
•    Leadership and Support
•    Clinical Governance 
•    Referral and Case Management  
•    Occupational Health Specialist Expert Advice 
•    Medical Records Management & Confidentiality   

About You
•    Do you have significant clinical, clinical governance and occupational health experience and have you previously managed clinical and/or occupational health teams?
•    Can you lead with humility, listen and understand key ideas, and articulate your own ideas clearly and effectively?
•    Will you be able to swiftly adapt to new Clinical tools and technology (CORITY) and Departmental safety critical policies and procedures, which are aligned with the College of Policing standards and guidance?
•    Are you able to consistently achieve, and exceed, performance targets and standards?
•    Are you resilient, self-motivated and do you consistency strive for excellence?
•    Are you a registered general nurse and hold a current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council? Do you have Active Occupational Health Specialist Practitioner Part 3 Status and do you have an Occupational Health degree?
