Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, Occupational Health Physician - Health Surveillance

Salary:£130,000 dependent on experience, aligned to BMA guidelines
Hours: 35 hours per week or flexible

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service protects one of the largest geographical areas of any Fire and Rescue Service with over 350 Community Fire Stations and corporate locations across Scotland. They manage a diverse range of risks, from urban cities to remote and rural island locations.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of occupational health and fitness professionals, you will:

- Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of risk-based health surveillance frameworks, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements and effective monitoring of occupational health risks across SFRS.

- Lead the development and oversight of a compliant asbestos medical surveillance framework, including risk criteria, clinical protocols, exposure tracking, statutory record keeping and advice on firefighter asbestos-related health risks.

-Manage and provide clinical leadership, training and governance for the Health Surveillance Nurse Practitioners, including competency standards, supervision, delegated health surveillance activities and escalation of complex or abnormal findings.
