BHSF Occupational Health, Occupational Physician - CESR Route

BHSF have a brilliant opportunity for another Occupational Physician to join BHSF’s Training Academy. They are investing unrivalled amounts of funds and resource into medical education which will see you complete BHSF’s Specialty Training Programme in Occupational Medicine which is comparable to the requirements for the award of CCT in the UK.

The post is not educationally approved for training but BHSF will fully support CESR applications to the GMC and FOM. You will be part of a highly motivated Consultant-led customer-focused team carrying out home- and site-based clinics and workplace visits across a variety of different industry sectors. You will receive regular support from your Clinical Supervisor and Educational Supervisor and work in conjunction with colleagues in Clinical Governance, Nursing, Operations and Customer Relations where you will be able to enhance your skills and knowledge in Occupational Health Service delivery.

Alongside this is the opportunity to undertake the distance learning MSc in Occupational Medicine at The University of Manchester. BHSF will support your continuing professional development and will encourage you to obtain the qualifications and appointments needed to perform medicals such as lead, HAVS, asbestos, OGUK, ionising radiation and MRO work.

To be considered for the role you must at least hold:

- GMC Registration with a valid licence to practise
- Completion of foundation programme and core training (CT1/2) or specialist routes (ST1/2/3)
- The DOccMed
- Full UK driving licence (as travel to customer locations and BHSF offices are part of the programme)

BHSF’s Occupational Medicine Training Programme is a four-year programme (pro-rata for part-time) starting at the equivalent to ST3. During this time, your work will be monitored for satisfactory progress subject to annual reviews of competency with the ultimate goal of being included on the GMC specialist register. A successful CESR application will lead to a substantive Consultant appointment at BHSF Occupational Health.
