Art and Occupation. What’s Coming?

In this webinar Paul Nicholson will discuss 12 works of art that will appear in future issues of Art and Occupation in the journal Occupational Medicine. He will also share plans for a book to be launched in 2025 to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the SOM. The book will include 100 works of art created between the prehistoric and the present (c.5500BCE to 2021).

Paul Nicholson is a Past President of the SOM and a former Honorary Assistant Editor of the Society’s journal Occupational Medicine. He has been writing articles for the Art and Occupation series since October 2017.

Paul trained in occupational medicine in the RAF and with ICI, Chemicals and Polymers. He spent most of his career with P&G, his last job being Associate Medical Director for Global Medical Operations. Before retiring, he was a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (London), the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and the British Medical Association (BMA). He was elected to the board of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine three times, and was Chair of the BMA Occupational Medicine Committee for 8 years. He was awarded an OBE for services to occupational medicine in 2006.
