This is an exciting opportunity to join EDF’s dynamic and passionate Occupational Health Team as an Occupational Health Advisor to Heysham 2 Nuclear Power Station. The post will be full time and based at Heysham 2, where the Occupational Health Advisor is very much embedded within and part of Station life. There is also overarching clinical governance, management, training and development as well as peer support delivered by the central occupational health team.

As one of Heysham 2’s Occupational Health Advisors you’ll:

Provide advice and guidance to line managers on all aspects of Occupational Health in order to assist leaders to manage their staff in the most effective manner.

Provide advice, guidance and standards to staff on work related health issues.

Assist with budget management for the Heysham 2 Occupational Health team

Be responsible for managing a team of OH professionals and administrative support staff.

Support the OH team in continued professional and personal development to ensure EDF OH continue to deliver the highest quality patient care, whilst delivering the central business plan objectives.

Support emergency arrangements, i.e. First Aiders, Emergency Preparedness Engineers, decontamination protocols)

Work within a 1-2 year timeframe in delivering strategy and planning for future business requirements.

The successful Occupational Health Advisor will be on the Specialist Community Public Health (Occupational Health Nurse) register and will have a certificate, diploma or degree in Occupational health or be willing to commence training to gain this qualification in the first two years of starting the role.
