Amanda Hinkley
Amanda has experience of OH management at UK and international level in a variety of organisations.
Helen Hannar
Helen started working in Occupational Health in 1998, working across various industries, organisations and running a successful independent OH business, after a career in the NHS as a Ward Sister.
She has a specific interest in mental health and wellbeing in working age adults, with an additional background in CBT and psychological trauma support.
Her current role is Principal Occupational Health Specialist at Network Rail working on the development of safe and effective Occupational Health services and wellbeing interventions.
Alison Margary
Alison is a Chartered Occupational Hygienist and Board Member of the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) – The Chartered Society for Worker Health Protection. She was BOHS President in 2021-22 and a member of the Society’s Board since 2019.
Alison has over 40 years of experience as an Occupational Hygiene specialist in the energy and petrochemical sectors with a focus on the effective management of workplace health risks to prevent the onset of occupational illness amongst workers. She has worked at both local and corporate levels (nationally and internationally) setting, influencing and implementing standards of good occupational hygiene practice. Alison recognises the importance of working with other occupational health professions and is delighted to work with FOHN as a member of their Board.
Wendy Jones
Wendy is a researcher, occupational health specialist and chartered ergonomist. She started her OH career in the water industry in 1989, completing her OH qualification at Nottingham Trent University. After roles in the NHS and British Gas research she led the OH service at Loughborough University for over ten years before studying for a PhD there. Her current research is mostly in the construction sector, working with universities and directly with the industry.
Phina Amahoro
As an Occupational Health Nurse, I am passionate about public health and its intersection with the workplace. With years of experience, I have honed my skills in several areas:
– Absence Management: I specialize in managing employee absences, ensuring a smooth process that considers both individual well-being and organizational productivity.
– Research: My curiosity drives me to explore the latest trends and evidence-based practices. I stay informed about health-related research, always seeking innovative ways to enhance workforce health.
– Continuous Learning: I thrive on learning. Whether it’s attending workshops, reading scholarly articles, or collaborating with fellow professionals, I am committed to staying at the forefront of public and occupational health.
In my role, I provide clinical advice to managers and employees, bridging the gap between health and work. I advocate for safe, inclusive workplaces, where employees can thrive physically and mentally. Empowering others with knowledge is the most rewarding aspect of my job.
Catrina Hughes
Catrina has worked across a variety of occupational health settings and is committed to
supporting professional excellence within occupational health nursing. She brings
experience in clinical practice, leadership and workforce wellbeing to the Faculty's
Board...
Stephanie Foster
Stephanie started her OH career in 2007 with Boots the Chemist. Since then she has delivered OH services to a wide range of public and private sector clients, working both in-house and for an OH provider. Stephanie has a passion for Occupational Health as a specialism and for nurturing the talent of those involved in it. She currently works as a clinical training lead for PAM Academy and is an examiner for the FOM DipOccPrac.
